Place has a heritage and history to it. A good mix of modern touch on a very rustic mansion. Staff was very pleasant and showed us around. A nice peep into the history of the place, the winery and the company. Vintage methods of wine production and olive oil production and the machinery is still available for display. Food was good. Wine tasting was very sweet experience. I am novice in wine tasting so I just experimented my ways with three kinds of wines that were served to us. The type of local grapes used and the texture it gives was so informative. I loved the manager of this place. She was very kind. Overall an engaging experience and a very quality time.

Our stay here was amazing! The staff was so kind and helpful, the castle itself was beautiful, the dinner restaurant was so yummy and convenient, and the breakfast was charming and adequate. We also partook of a wine tasting on site that was super special and tasty! The pool area is also lovely. The location is slightly inconvenient, but the hotel was able to help us arrange a car to get to nearest train station (Pescara). There is little do to in the area around the castle, so plan on just chilling on site! Staff went above and beyond! Thanks again!

We stayed here two nights on our trip and I enjoyed it very much but there are a few things you need to be aware of. You are staying in an old building that was renovated to become a hotel. The grounds are spectacular. The rooms aren't traditional hotel rooms. Some rooms are in a part of the building where the roof slopes to restrict your standing room. Our room had an interior stairway and a tub in the same space as the bed. There is a grand suit that is huge with views on all sides. Although there is a lift, interior stairs make heavy luggage very difficult. That being said, this is a really interesting place to stay.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Set in beautiful countryside this converted castle hosts brunch Sundays where you pay and eat as much of the lovely buffet style food as you want you can also drink wines from their award winning winery. It is a hotel too with beautiful bespoke rooms. They also do weddings and have concerts and wine tasting events through the year. Great place to spend a Sunday morning with friends. Staff are lovely and very helpful

Very unique hotel is a gorgeous building and beautiful grounds, spectacular views of the mountains, situated in their winery. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, fresh cheeses, meats, brioche and scrumptious cakes held in an upstairs dining room with a hearth, decorated with kitchen tools and baskets near the kitchen. The rooms were interesting. Our friends had the top suite which was spectacular and we had a junior suite which was clean and spacious but could have used a more convenient bathroom and shower. It was fine though.Since they only served breakfast I wish they provided some local recommendations for places to eat nearby. We would have loved a tour of this building but they were busy preparing for a luncheon which we were unable to attend unfortunately. It was very convenient to Ortona a mare, my mother's hometown, a lovely city right on the beautiful Adriatic, and we explored the town, saw the basilica of San Tommaso, the Trabocci, visited some beaches, and the wine fountain at Dora Sarchese (for all but especially for those who completed the "cammino di San Tommaso") There is so much to explore in Abruzzo, and this hotel is a fine choice.

Beautiful place but appalling service (or lack of it) No tea or coffee in the room, no restaurant in the hotel, no internet in the suite and no one answers calls after 9 pm. Spotlessly clean. Valentina, the manager was very helpful though. She gave us a tour of the place. I was amazed at her knowledge of history. There are other equally nice places to stay in that part of Italy. Villa Paola in San Martino Sulla Marruccina is about 15 minutes drive but the service is amazing and the place is charming-moved there the next day. Overall, lovely old castle but could do with some more customer service in terms of staffing,food etc.
